I was hoping to see Ruby Rose return, but I guess it'll be Halle Berry.

After the disappointment of the 2nd movie and the general disappointment of continuing a story that really did not need to continue, I can only be pessimistic and hope for a pleasant surprise.

Why Halle Berry though?

Tested a set lexani wheels. Love the overall design and handling of this rims.

Yeah...this movie will suffer unless Halle really dedicates herself to it. A movie franchise founded on proper quality gunplay can be derailed by more typical Hollywood nonsense.

What? Like the nascent Equilibrium Cinematic Universe? And it's not like Batman didn't commit to the movie.

Trying to work this one out. The sequel to the sequel to typical Hollywood gunporn would be ruined by typical Hollywood...what? What kind of nonsense? How would Berry cause it suffer but not Keanu?

Keanu is the worst part about John Wick. Fight me.

Keanu is the worst part of every movie he's in (except possibly the matrix, because that plot and those cliches) That's why I'm confused by the idea that Halle Berry can somehow make this worse.

If you don't understand what I said, you don't understand why the movie is so popular. Don't bother.

So Halle need to act like she knows what she'd going with a gun (and/or guns) and not "Hollywood Shoot 'Em Up" with her guns?

I honestly didn't know that the John Wick movies featured 'proper' (if obviously somewhat stylized?) gunplay...?

Ah. I rather think this one of those cases where 'You don't understand' means 'I can't explain it.'

It wasn't neary as stylized as Equilibrium

The first movie certainly had a gritty realism to it, devoid of the more stylistic action typical of such films. John Wick 2 kind of maintained that to a degree but show me a trailer of guys on motor bikes with katanas and obviously we're going into Kill Bill ludicrousness territory.

Not really sure I'm remotely interested in "John Wick 2 Acts 2-3 The Movie." The second and third acts of John Wick 2 weren't very good and I'm not sure who asked for more of it.

Yeah... I'm kinda with you with regards to the last acts of Wick 2... and I think that stems from the fact that we don't know a whole lot about the secret world/rules, and we're expected to take it at face value. We can only do that for so long...

Still excited for Wick 3 though because I live me some Gun-Fu!

Oh... Kill Bill was one of the greatest ever and should've won oodles of awards that year. FITE ME!

I agree. I thought JW1 was pretty swell, but JW2 really wasn't near as good, although it was still pretty far from "bad". I still loved the worldbuilding, but the actual story was pretty meh. I'm not sure it needed a direct sequel, let alone to be part of a trilogy.

Ruby Rose was terrific so glad to see she will be returning. Kind of bummed Common won't be, it felt like that part of the story really wasn't finished yet (and Ruby Rose's sort of was, so wtf??).

I too would like to know more about the cryptic riddle that is "Halle Berry represents Hollywood nonsense" but Keanu Reeves doesn't. Maybe it's like the Matrix, you can't simply be told, and need to be shown.

Honestly I think John Wick is the first movie when Keanu Reeves' complete inability to emote is a boon. He pulls off the stoic man with an undercurrent of rage fairly well throughout the movie, whereas usually his expressions and reactions normally come off to me as fake/forced. It still feels fake and forced of course, but the movie seemed to play to it, presented a man of violence who tried really hard not to be until someone pulled that last straw.

The first film was not bad, formula stuff but enjoyable,.

The second was like watching a standard first person shooter, it was ok.

may watch the 3rd on Sky or Netflix.

There's a film called The Gift where he's pretty good too - but in that film he plays an emotionally stunted wife beater. So, yeah, only any use as an actor when he doesn't have to display emotion.

I think the first is a good example of why formula exists at all. Reminds me of Overlord last year.

It's just a solid movie. It works in the ways that are important and keeps you entertained. Sure it's no big budget production meant to blow your mind, but honestly most of those waste their budgets reaching for more than the corporate suits making it can grasp with their tiny money driven minds, which is a great explanation in my book for how someone can make Suicide Squad, the Predator, or what have you such god awful experiences. Properly executed and attentive formula is pretty damn effective, and low budget. The world could use more movies like John Wick, a film whose only initial aspiration was to entertain and make a tidy respectable profit.

EDIT: The video game industry could learn this lesson too while I'm rambling about it. Just read somewhere that Sony invested 135 million into the last Tomb Raider game, apparently not learning remotely from the previous entry that was also overly invested in for how much it could really be expected to make, made doubly shocking by that game also not learning from it's predecessor which did the exact same thing.

I think keanu is better then a lot of people give him credit for and is generally pretty great in the roles he is suited for (which is most of the roles he gets). Anything overly bad or cheesy I tend to chalk up to directing or writing not his ability to act.

The degrading quality of the Matrix films for example is not his fault.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
