My warlord had a combi plasma and i picked it as the weapon for artisan of war. But my opponent said i had to choose between bolter and plasma for my warlord trait. It does say add 1 to the damage characteristic of one weapon carried by your warlord. Now i wonder if a combi weapon is a legal target for artisan of war ? Its two weapons in one. What do you think ? Can i pick one of the two weapons ? Can i pick both weapons ? Or neither ?

It's a single weapon with two profiles isn't it? Therefore I'd say both are affected.

A Combi weapon is one weapon I would argue. You pay the points etc for having that weapon.

The rule states the damage increase is to the weapon. Not a shooting option on the weapon, to the weapon itself.

If that weapon happens to be a combi weapon then everything gets a buff.

Let's say hypothetically it was a Missile Launcher, would you have to choose Frag or Krak? I don't think so.

Yes, it's a single weapon with multiple profiles, so you get the bonus damage to any of the profiles.
