I've often loved the Death Guard- they're one of the forces that I first played in 40k- back when there weren't enough Death Guard minis, so I had to convert horrific mutation on normal marine minis.

The current lineup of minis for them are really impressive- the best they've ever had. For the color schemes on them, I decided to go with a lot of rusty metals and armor that is a mix of brownish green and flesh tones. I think they came out looking properly blighted.

And the Blight Drones really remind me of Slave One.

That rust effect over the green is really well done. I have a bunch of Conquest chappies that still need painting and I might try this, can you tell me more about what you did here?

The green is a result of using red to shade green. Because they're complimentary, they mix to make neutral colors- which means that I can have a very much neutral look while maintaining some nice colors.

I then highlighted the green to a flesh tone (which has a healthy amount of red in it) which furthers the neutralizing.

I painted the very rusty bits by stippling on texture in layers, and adding the silver chips at the end.
