My first unit of Skitarii, converted from Skitarii, Sicarian Ruststalker, and GSC Neophyte bits, all with varying degrees of modification.

For a while I spent a lot of time messing around with lighting and exposure settings to try to get the perfect amount of lighting and contrast. I did comparison shots between a lightbox versus light umbrellas, lighting arrangements, different sorts of backgrounds. It inevitably gave me either an underexposed model, or a too-light background.

Then I discovered that I could just stick a half-black piece of printer paper off to the side of the model, get the exposure mostly-kinda-sorta correct, and then use a white balance plugin in Paint.net to use the white and black of the paper for color correction. Piece of cake.

These looks great, I think the Ruststalker heads actually look a lot better on these bodies than they do on the Sicarian ones, the gas-mask look blends with the hazmat style of the clothing really nicely.

These look great. Somehow I feel this should be the official look of the skitarii, this looks so much better. The parts you used blend in nicely with eachother and the paintjob is spot on too!

Catbarf said in his original post, that he converted from Skitarii, Sicarian Ruststalker and Genestealer Cult Neophyte bits. By the look of it, the torsos and legs are from the Genestealer Cult Neophyte Hybrids, though catbarf seems to have removed all cult symbols as well as all the grooves in the paddings. The arms, backpacks and weapons are straight up skitarii rangers, the heads are from ruststalkers.

@catbarf: Awesome work! I will most likely copy the use of the Ruststalker heads... perhaps not for Skitarii, but maybe for something else, as they are looking great this way!
