I am wondering does a Battle-forged army have to be within a single detachment? Or can you run multiple detachments and still be battle forged? Do they have to share only one keyword or must they be exactly the same, for example, can I run a Cadian Detachment and a Tallharn detachment in the same army and still be battle-forged? Or do they all need to be one or the other? Very confused.... please help

BattleForged just means all your units are in legal detachments all tied together by a shared Keyword. You can have as many detachments as you want, though some play mode restrict that to 3 or less, but that doesn't have anything to do with being BF.

So yes, you could have a Cadian Battalion with a Tallarn Outrider and still be BF.
