Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong section, so here goes.

I've been reading the Gaunt's Ghosts novels, and I'm currently on Salvation's Reach. I was reading a Dan Abnett interview in the White Dwarf magazine several months ago that was kind of a promotion of the new-at-the-time novel Warmaster, which I have got in hardback but not yet read, obviously.

In the interview, Abnett is talking about all the various characters that feature in the series when he alludes to one particular character but never outright names him. He says that this man has appeared to be a good man throughout the series, but it's only recently become clear that he's anything but a good man. I got the impression that this character twist is supposed to be something of a shock to the reader.

Does anyone know who this character is? Would telling me spoil something I've yet to read, and if it is, will the twist become clear to me when I reach it?

I've got this impression that one of the main characters is going to turn out to be evil in disguise, and has been masquerading as a decent guy all this time.

So, does anyone know who Abnett was referring to?

"How many people here have telekenetic powers raise my hand" - The Emperor, The council of Nikae

"Never raise your hand to your children, it leaves your midsection unprotected" - The Emperor

"My father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic" - Kharn

Yea, I think I know who he’s talking about. It’ll become clear in The Warmaster.
