so 40k bieng the brutul world it us normally works off might makes right. the bigger you are the better. but there are exceptions to this rule. like Sly Marbo who can and was wiped out squads of space marines. are there any examples of really badass gretchins or snotlings doing really badass tbings that they should not be capable of doing? are there any examples of Gretchins rising to positions of leadership in ork clans/tribes? and if not a single indivual gretchin maybe three gretchins in a trench coat pretending to be an ork? it would not be the stupidest ork storyline.

There was Da Red Gobbo, and there's an independent grot mob on Vigilus.

In Warhammer Fantasy goblins can be a force in their own right, whereas their space cousins seem to be completely at the mercy of the larger ork race. Most famous gretchin seem to be no more than sidekicks for a warboss or similar. I'd love for it to be possible for an 'all-gretchin' army, with not even a runtherd in the mix - but that might be a long time coming....

Yeah, Da Red Gobbo.

He's basically a Bolshevik Gretchin.

Makari, Ghazghkull Thraka's personal grot bannerman. Incredibly lucky (had a 2+ invul in 2nd edition) and lived the ripe old age of 9 (ancient for a grot). Oh, and the lucky stick relic was an homage to Makari - it was his or something along those lines.

Active armies, still collecting and painting First and greatest love - Orks, Orks, and more Orks largest pile of shame, so many tanks unassembled most complete and painted beautiful models, couldn't resist the swarm will consume all
Armies in disrepair: nothing new since 5th edition oh how I want to revive, but mostly old fantasy demons and some glorious Soul Grinders in need of love

The gretchin are a sub culture. A bad ass may be ignored by the ORKS but be a hero to other grotz. In the evil SUNZ novella a whole sub plot goes on between scheming grotz and the hero grot just gets boll@cked by the boss when all is said and done. It’s an underlings life. No ORK would ever respect a grot, makari was a good luck charm, bosses will have their favourite but if they get too cocky the will get killed or outcast. Renegade grot mobs have existed since for ever as freebooterz.

Makari ain't dead - he's too cool for that (that's my story, never mind what the fluff "really" says )

Waaagh! The Orks had some flavour text that featured the same Gretchin going about his daily business in an Ork settlement; outwitting Orks, fighting off other Gretchin, avoiding too many beatings from the Doc he worked for ... he was pretty cool.

I remeber him, he was ace. Bad ass to grotz but just another runt. I liked that goblins in fantasy were different from grotz.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Behind every great ORK is a cunning team of grotz.

Yes, but technically, the Red Gobbo is a position (like the Dread Pirate Roberts), and not a single badass Grot.
