Hey all. Painting bases from Dragonforge (Urban Rubble). I'm looking to get a deep reddish brown for the bricks. I want it to be red but not "red"......they are going on my Rusty Claw Genestealer cult and I don;t want the red and orange to clash.

I was thinking Wazdakka Red with a heavy wash of Agrax. What color to highlight though? Spot drybrush of Wazdakka to bring some red back and then what? I'm thinking of a brown or light tan color but I'm stumped.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Are you committed to GW paints? Because Vajello makes a great Terracotta paint.

Vallejo Model Color's Cavalry Brown is a nice reddish brown which could be a good starting point for darker/more burnt bricks?
(a quick google meant I found this blog post which nicely shows off Cavalry Brown and Hull Red - albeit on a tank, not bricks)

Bodt

mix your own brown/red. you dont want a consistent colour as it wont look natural. you want different hues to represent the look of actual brick.wash with a brown, then drybrush with your brown with a little bone in it, in increasing amounts.
