Trying to find a good fit for a Seraptek in my Army. Thought process is using the deceiver to move the Gauss Immortals into immediate rapid fire, and move the destroyers into midfield cover to support the Construct moving up to assault. Meanwhile, doomsdays chip in where they can. 5 man squad holds backfield objectives. I get the normal 8cp to work with. Went with Mephrit to make the immortals a little meaner in rapid fire, and let the Seraptek use stratagems to fight twice if need be as a aux Novokh detatchment.

I would swap one of your full units of immortals' guns to tesla. Youre a little short on horde-clearing, that plus MWBD from the Overlord will help with that. The Deceiver seems strong, but he's a really big points sink. I personally have trouble justifying him over flushing out your squads more and maybe taking scarabs for an effective screen. Have you used the Seraptek yet? I dont own one, but im curious how they perform.

I'd considered tesla certainly, however the issue I run into is that my local meta is veeeeryyyyy 3+ save heavy. So having the rapid fire can openers in the Gauss Blasters seemed preferable. Otherwise, in a more balanced meta, i'd run the tesla for sure.
My goal with the deceiver was to drop the immortals off on a flank and blast some mortal wounds, so its a means to ensure my gauss gets rapid fire.
The Seraptek in the one game I played was solid. Not uber survivable however, i'm running it forward quickly expecting it to explode and kill whatever is near it.

I use the HQ combo of Cryptek and Lord. 5++ vs shooting and re-roll 1's to wound? ka-ching!

especiallly with a Destroyer / Warrior bubblewrap.

So the first question I always ask with the Deceiver Grand Illusion. What's your plan if you don't get first turn?

I feel your strategy banks a lot on moving pieces up in expectation of first turn, but if your opponent has first turn, you have much less value and I don't see a strong back-up plan here.

A chronometron really only pays off with warriors IMO. The lord is a fine idea, but is really in there as a tax that I have to take.

If I don't get first turn, the deceived units move to midfield cover/LOS blocking terrain, and camp out until they have the chance to ask. I used the deceiver one game to maneuver my out of position vehicles into optimal positions to minimize the damage I take, and maximize the damage i can deal after weathering the storm.

You mean to let the Seraptek foght twice with the Novokh stratagem I suppose?

Who is the Crimson Have for? The Seraptek?

And can NB you fitbin some scarabs to protect the Deceiver from smites (and shots?)

Also Tesla with +1 is almost on par with Gauss even against 3+. And that's of Gauss is in RF range. (But cover throws the scales back)

That was the original intent for having the Seraptek go Novokh yes.
Crimson Haze...yeah more likely than not would be for him, but at the same time I don't want to be that close. Not sure if a different trait would be better. Might be best used for Immortal Pride to deny something obnoxious like death hex or null zone, or jinx on the construct.
