There is no mishap in Deep Strike, not this edition.

BL was useful in 7th because of anti aircraft while still having the punch to poke land raiders. I havent seen much of either weapon in battle reports for 8th. but looking at the stats I almost wonder if 2 AML wouldnt be better? giving it much better anti infantry shooting while keeping the high damage single shots for bigger targets.
Are you aware of
Objective Secured? It only takes one troop model to deny the
WL that objec tive point.
PistolPete2525 wrote:Farseer and skyrunners:. in short these are the flexable ones. they are the objective takers and they are the support buffers and they also whiddle down the enemy from the side line.
Objective securing is not a good idea with these two. And given the Warlord point the farseer yields, he isn't worth securing a Ob point for one turn and then getting killed the next. Keep him safe and keep him back, to lunging forward until a really secure Turn 4 or comfy Turn 5 means he can grab an objective safely.

You'll need to spend a wee bit of cash to bring in the battalion. It ought not to be a problem to spend $2> a model for
DAs. Rangers will generally cost their regular
GW price, even on ebay.

Overall:
a. the lack of
CPs is gonna hurt as 8e is a
CP & strategem enhanced game
b. You'll need troops for Obsec and the battalion. I would drop a Wraith Lord as they're the weak sauce in the list. One enemy troop takes away an objective and for the points,
WLs just don't rate a good fire power, nor toughness, especially without an Invulnerable. I tried a Doom of Mymeara (sp?)
WL that had an invuln, but there's just some many other, better unit choices.
c. Your warlord trait 'shifting vector' - Farseers already get rerolls with the spirit stones. Farming
CPs is a far better trait, so I'd go with the Ulthwe Fate Reader instead.
d. Meta match ups? Until you bring your
CPs up to battalion strength, you're coming in deeply as underdog regardless of the enemy list. Most 2k lists in the ITC meta are 2 battalions, if not 3 (like my Drukhari/Aeldari) and that means several uses of key strategems that are gonna punch hard. I think your worst match ups are gonna be:
d.2 Elves; they'll combat and Deny the Witch your buffing powers, and they'll likely be faster and have better board control. Drukhari for their DisCans and speed (unless they're grotesques)
d.3 Orks-hordes (redundant, I know) as the Wraith footers don't kill volume.
d.4 - Imp Knights + Guard. The
IG has enough chafe to waste the Wraiths' time in worthless h2h and the Castellans will have 2 to 3 rounds to bang the WAve Serpents. If you Webway Portal, then the
IG players bubble wraps his knights.
Skipping item 'd' entirely, as, Westenfux stated, I say start over with a battalion and go from there.
