I don't see anything wrong with it. Funko has the money, and the general market appeal to get more people playing board games. They also have a staggeringly fast turn around in making decent quality toys. They have inroads with pretty much any property out there (they are literally classed differently then regular toys by most IP holders, allowing them to get licenses other companies couldn't). The downside would be that they make too much stuff, and saturate the market quickly. The upside is, other studios which thought they were the heaviest hitters, and had been slacking because of it (cough* Asmodee cough*) have to deal with a new, very big dog in the fight, and will up their game accordingly.
