So I got a can, after watching a YouTube video of some guy using the old purity seals and saying it's the best, I figured this new version can only be improved right?.. Anyway can has turned up, and after some more digging/trawling through the internet I'm not finding much positivity about this product.
I get that some of this will be user error, not shaking the can enough, or spraying too close/thick etc, but...
Has anybody out there used this with good results?

I've never used it, but I'd recommend using a different company to GW, As their hardware products tend to be overpriced and sub standard. Brands like Rustoleum or humbrol make decent varnish.

Ok well, I can report:
Tested on a plastic termagant.
Put the can in my pocket for around an hour beforehand, whilst I did other things, but it warmed it up.
Shook the can for a good 5 minutes.
Sprayed in my garage, which is unheated and not very well insulated, but I did close the door.
Whether is reported at about 11c with around 85% humidity.
Lightly sprayed the model, sweeping it over quickly, probably about 30-35cm away.
Results:
No signs of misting/clouding at all. Finish is as stated Satin - it has a very slight shine if you get the light just right, otherwise its actually quite hard to tell between this one and another unvarnished one I painted the same colours.
So, actually pretty pleased. In theory conditions shouldn't change much today over the next few hours, I might crack on and start varnishing the rest of my models.

Ok further update:
Using exactly the same method as above, I went ahead and did my entire 2500k points of Grey Knights.
I must say, I am really pleased with the results, no clouding or misting visible at all.
The finish is great, makes the colours look really vibrant and deep, without being over shiny/glossy.
It certainly isnt matt though (nor does it claim to be) and does leave your models with a slight shine in the right light.
I must say, from all the negativity and horror stories I have read about GW spray varnish, this isn't my experience at all.

Great news, thanks for the updates. I personally have had very good results with all of the Citadel products I've used.

Last update promise!
Did my Tyranid army also, and what I have painted so far of my chaos space marines, probably just north of 150 models in total today.
Again, really pleased, probably went through....mmmm... about 3/4 of a can.
I do have one critisim now though! - I used Blood for the Blood Gods technical paint on some Khorne Berzerkers chainaxes, and it has dulled the gloss shine on the slightly.

You need to apply bftbg after varnish, same as most effect paints.

Ahh ok.
To be honest I don't see why I couldnt just paint a bit more over the top, its a few chainswords/chainaxes, wont take that long.
Also after picking up the can again after an hour or so, feeling the weight of it, I reckon I used more than 3/4 of the can, probably nearly used all of it, there is a bit left, I dont think thats too bad though considering it covered about 150 models.

Yeah you can reapply after, it just doesn't make sense to do it twice. Unless you like the effect.

I just re-apply the shiny stuff after. Things like the gem paints and blood for the blood God dry pretty hard anyway. An alternative is to simply hit those spots with gloss varnish applied with a regular brush.
