I've been in touch with my LGS and, although it seems AoS seems to sell, no one plays at said LGS's and thus the people who do play are all closet players or playing in speakeasy's or something Al Capone style.

Any recommendations to get playing? I would not mind playing AoS but I'm loathe to invest any $$$ if there is literally no games in my area.

Near Detroit if that helps

Ideas:

1) If your store manager is selling AoS then you can assume people are playing somewhere so ask them to ask their customers. Heck the store owner should know where people are gaming because even if they aren't gaming in the store its the ideal time to drive people toward a club or group if they show interest in the product.

2) If you can't get it out of them then consider starting your own - this might be at your home or you might even convince the store owner to do an AoS night or event. Ergo an attempt to use the store as a focal point to get the local word out and then generate games.

Sometimes you find the area has a game club and you just join up; other times you've got to do the legwork to get it going.

Sometimes you have to start at your home and find a couple people interested and grow from there.
