So I've been recently dabbling with my Necrons; painting, buying, listing etc and I will soon have my first actual game with them.

I'll be playing against Tau, it's not a competitive game but natrually I would enjoy a win. They don't have any big models like a Riptide or Stormsurge so I don't have to worry about those. However with the cost to suits being reduced, I am somewhat expecting a storm of missiles and plasma to cut through my bots.

So my question to the wise souls of Dakka is, from the list below, what else would you propose would be a good tactical addition:

Now, I am not made of money, but I'm happy to buy a few new bits and bobs to make the list more sound. Obviously I can take things out to better accomodate the points costs (like the Flayed ones) but if we go over 2000 its not a huge issue.

For my initial thoughts, I was thinking to grab a 'Start collecting' box, to fill out the Immortals to 2 sets of ten who can both be babysat by an Overlord. Then I'd have some Warriors, Scarabs and an Annihilation Barge, with a Lord to boot.

Then I could probably stretch my budget to buy another box, like filling out the Tomb Blades or Wraiths, and I have been tempted by Lychguard just for the model asthetics, even though I don't think I can see a use for them...

So, does anyone have any opinions on what wouldn't work well for this, or what sort of things I perhaps should look at grabbing next?
