Preface, I am building an army using DW rules to represent a successor Chapter of Loyalist Alpha Legion.
"Officially" they are UltraMarines successors, but the truth of their origin is known only to their "inner circle" of commanders and unit leaders.

I still want to evoke a DW-like scheme, so the main body of armour will still be black, with health amounts of silver accents.
Both shoulders, however, will be a metallic blue-green (with silver edges) and an upside-down UM symbol as their sigil, which is both the Omega symbol and opposite of Alpha.

My question is this: Should I also paint their helmets metallic blue-green, or leave it black?
Many of my models will have Storm Shields (using AoS Stormcast shields) and if I paint the helmets blue-green, I'll paint the bulk of the shields black
Or vice-versa, if I keep the helmets black, the shields will be blue-green.

Any opinions on which I should do?

I think I would go with black helms and blue-green shields. Makes for a better contrast if you have any librarians with blue helms, and I suspect blue-green shields might look better than black ones. Also provides more contrast between armor and shield color.

And as the helmets have more detail than the flat parts of the shields, it certainly makes it easier to paint, while also visually looking more like DW.
Thanx!

No problem, I really like the concept of your Omega Hammer marines and am curious to see how they turn out. You should post some pics when they are done! Also, although it is currently unlikely, if I ever run a 40k RPG campaign again I may borrow the chapter for use if that is alright.
