Do you get overwatch when your opponent fails the charge roll? This came up last night, I was told this change was in the beta rules. I can't find it.

Order of charge is

Pick unit to charge.
Pick unit(s) to be charged by that unit.
Those units all fire overwatch if in range/line of sight.
Then resolve charge roll

You fire overwatch before the dice are rolled. So, the dice result is irrelevant.

You've always rolled overwatch BEFORE the unit makes a charge roll. Don't believe anything you hear and half of what you see. If someone says "a beta rule changed it", make them prove it.

Certainly. In theory, an opponent might even pull casualties inflicted by overwatch from the front, requiring a higher result for a successful charge.

Realistically, everyone will do their best to avoid this, but the charge range could change as a result of the overwatch.
