I was just curious if anyone has used stormcast as a conversion for space marines and if so how easy was the process for them.

Lot's of people have done it. It doesn't really work, IMO, as despite them essentially just being fantasy Space Marines, aesthetically they're very, very different.

I did some a few years ago for a Kill Team that never happened. I found a Chapter that had abnormally large Marines (forgot the name now) and I thought it would work well. You can be the judge for yourself, but I think they are pretty nice. Old, crappy pictures though, sorry 'bout that.

(Added spoiler thing since the pics are pretty large)

they dont really fit using the whole thing. using parts like the gauntlets works though, if youre making more ornate guys like dark angels of black templars etc.

It depends on the stormcast kit, but structurally and proportionally they're very similar to Primaris and Custodes. It'll probably take a bit of trimming, but is eminently doable.

I think they work very well, so long as you are not just subbing them out for "regular" Marines. They are Primaris-sized and quite a bit more ornate, so they really should be used as "special" units like Veterans or special Chapters like Blood Angels that have an affinity for over-doing the blink.

Personally, I am building a Deathwatch army built around the fluff of being a Loyalist Chapter of Alpha Legion that survived the Heresy under the guise of being UM successors.
They have more resources than the usual chapter, which is why they have more ornate armour and better wargear.
Model-wise I am mixing GKs (for the storm bolters and various Marine bits I need) and Liberators (mostly for the shields). Only my Characters, Vanguard Vets and Frag-cannon Vets will be using the Stormcast body, but with Marine heads/packs and weapons.

I use a bunch of stormcast for my Blood Angel Primaris units. The ornate armor works well for BA, and gives them a unique look.

Some pics of my Agressors I built. Body is a stormcast, head and backpack are Space Marine, arms are both Power Fist.

I like the way that they look I was thinking of taking some of the vanguard ones that have pelt cloaks and turning them into something for Space wolves, but would they look to clean knightly to do that?
