Hey all, I'm planning on making a mutalith vortex beast using a forgefiend as the base, however I still need a warpy vortex to go on top and I don't want to buy the kit for just that one part, does anyone have an idea what I could use? Thanks in advance

Depending on how well you can freehand, a simply plastic or styrofoam ball painted like the old vortex grenade template might do. These should be available at crafting stores and, of course, through Amazon.

If you want something spikier you could use spikes from the Chaos vehicle upgrade sprue.

Edit: For more fancy decoration, you could always try to make it look like a daemon is just emerging from it.

Take a look at Age of Sigmar's Endless Spells.
Loads of stuff to choose from there and there should be plenty of singles on Ebay.

Oli: Can I be an orc?
Everyone: No.
Oli: But it fits through the doors, Look!

Not the best at free hand stuff though the suggestion for the endless spells looks very good

Good call! Some of those endless spells look ripe for conversion material.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page
