I cant find a discussion but there is no correction in the errata.

Is it correct that the chainsword on forgeworld knights is only +4 strength? I assume that is correct but wasnt sure if i missed something.

You use whatever profile that the datasheet says. (Barring errata from FAQ's/Chapter approved etc.).

Answered for me for ITC.

According to Frankie and Reece at FLG, the weapon has the same name so it is the same weapon. Use the most recent profile. For ITC specifically (the league im in is itc) i can use the +6 profile

That is an ITC house rule, not what the actual rules say. It has as much validity as me saying Ultramarines have a 1+ invulnerable save.

And since he's playing in ITC format it's a perfectly valid answer for him, with a lot more validity than your example for his situation. It would also be helpful if you'd learn what a false equivalence is so you can stop using it in your arguments. There's a huge difference between choosing which of 2 conflicting (or possibly conflicting) printed rules to use and just making something up completely.

Is this on the ITC FAQ?

Even if so, ITC has very firm ruling that their "guidance" is not law, and event organizers have zero requirement to follow anything they say, so just because Frankie and Reece said so, doesn't really mean a thing.

If playing a friendly game, discuss it with your opponent. If playing in an event, discuss it with the TO.

Sorry, i wasnt specific enough

It was answered for me for one specific game in my specific league. I did not mean that Reece and Frankie make the rules for every tournament ever.

Since i cant find any errata, i would agree RAW give the weapon a different profile for the forgeworld models. Perhaps they did this to "force" use of the siege claw.

The profile from the codex can be used in place of the entry in the imperial armour index, see imperial armour index xenos FAQ for the FAQ answer and the evidence of this as they state this twice. Also they changed the name of burst cannons on tigersharks due to this. So the knight does get the codex rules.
