Hey Everyone,

I am playing in a escalation league with some friends which is going to be warlord centric and have bunch of fun stuff letting warlords take extra relics and traits. I decided to go GSC and choose an Abdominant as my warlord. He got fleshed out like this,

Bladed Cog
Abdominant
Born survivor
Bladed Cog relic.

This gives him Damage reduction 2, a 3++ save Thanks to the relic of the clawed Omnisiah and the creed, and if a wound gets through he regens it.

Eventually I'll be able to pick up extra relics for him and make him even tankier.

We did some numbers on him with just his normal legal stuff and threw him against a melee admech titan and he still came out on top.

I plan on pairing him up with a bunch of hammer abberants and a Primus, and an Acolyte Iconward.

Future relics include Scourge of the Distant Stars and amulet of the voidwyrm.

does anyone have any other good ideas to make him more survivable?

An alternative issue is that if i make this guy my Warlord i can never take a patriarch with the army. I'm hooked on the bladed cog cult and i think a Bladed Cog Patriarch with the Born survivor trait and the relic would be just as tanky, but the loss of FNP and heath regen means I'm going to need a lot of cultists around him to make it worthwhile and i will have to burn CP to heal every turn.

One thing to note to get around the Patriarch thing is summoning him during the game with the 2cp strat (you need to save the 125 pts in matched play though)

You'll also have to have a psyker to do that but with an Abominant, an Icon, a Primus, and Patriarch (summoned) you're going to be crowded with so many HQ choices at around 500 points that it will be hard to fit in some of the Elite choices that people have been raving about. Or maybe not, on second thought It might work as a 2 battalion list.
