I have shopped at Death-ray Designs for MDF terrain as well as Crooked-dice games. Anyone else shopped there and have comments? Specifically:
Both are now showing in my browser (chrome) as unsecure, so I am not risking my information. Is this a browser thing I am having? Or does anyone have a little more expertise? Have they just let their SSL encryption lapse (not sure that is even the right thing. Am I being overly paranoid? (they use Paypal, but the page where it asks for credit card information my browser is labeling unsecure)

Ooops, if this is wrong forum, my apologies mods. I order miniature wargaming stuff from them.

Security licences do have a limited lifespan - Dakka's has lapsed several times and suddenly one gets loads of "are you sure" notifications on the site.

Might just be those stores have had the same issue - esp if they are smaller hobby stores that might not have a huge daily turnover (ergo part time style stores). Best to contact would be them in a simple email regarding the website issue.

It might also be a3rd party issue and that a card payment site hasn't updated and they are covering both stores

If it's a reputable site you've used before with no problems the warning message you're getting is almost always the result of a lapsed security certificate. Those certificates have a limited lifespan and need to be renewed to be kept up to date. Also note, that even on pages that don't deal with secure information many browsers will flag a security issue if the page isn't using https protocol (Chrome is particularly zealous about this one).

You'll also want to be sure your computer or router hasn't been compromised. It's unlikely that you're being redirected to a fake site, but it's a possibility.

Best way to test is from a different device that's not where you are currently seeing the error.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1
