So I just made a huge financial mistake and fulfilled a childhood ambition by ordering a copy of the original Warhammer Quest.

I happen to have already picked up the dwarf and wizard one eBay a while ago so, in anticipation of the game's arrival, I decided to get them painted up. Trying to achieve that classic 90s look with minimum skill or effort.

Bases are temporary. I've been planning on doing flagstoned bases and have ordered the pieces necessary to do that, but the people of instagram and reddit have been crying out for classic goblin green - what do I do?

Flagstone with green rims, maybe?

There is no way this isn't awesome.

Oh that’s a nice idea. Not sure how it will look on the board tiles but prepared to give it a try.

Decided to stick with the original plan and go with tiled bases, this being my first:

Lovely depth.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

No green? Too bad, but probably the right call in the end. Eager for more!

Sorry

This is just how it formed in my mind as I was doing it. I think it’ll make more sense on the board.

Nice stuff, looking forward to seeing more also! Are you getting any of the expansions?

Looking forward to getting more stuff to work on. Waiting for some square bases to arrive in the post. I’d love to get some expansions but they’re all insanely expensive, and I’m not a big fan of metal miniatures, so not sure how that will play out.

Yeah that's a tricky one unless you want to make proxies for the models, still just the core box is a lot to work with. Mine has been sat unpainted since release week...

Yeah, I guess I'll see how I get on with this project first. Still waiting on those square bases to finish the dwarf.

I've also bought some of the classic plastic talisman wizards and dwarf slayer just to use as alternative models but might look out for some homebrew rules in case anyone ever made Light Wizards or Bright Wizards etc.
