Subject: Formal Uniforms in the Imperial Guard?

Hi, this is kind of gonna be a short post, but the thought just crossed my mind. Do the Imperial Guard have any uniforms they wear for formal occasions? For example, real-life militaries have uniforms they wear to ceremonies and formal events where combat isn't needed. The enlisted men of the Imperial Guard most likely won't have uniforms like this, but what about the officers?
It would be interesting to acquire information about this.

I'd think that would vary from world to world. For Mordia and Praetoria, whose "fatigues" are other regiments' Class-A uniform, they'd have something even dressier. See the Napoleonic Wars for example. If you thought what the line infantry at Waterloo wore on the field was foppish, you should see the dress uniforms they had in their packs for the victory parade. However, both Mordia and Praetoria seem like they are wealthy enough to have dress uniforms as well as partaking of a military tradition that values spit & polish.
Cadia I see as the modern U.S. army. There are Class A uniforms, but they are not that fancy, nor are they that different from the battle dress. There's just enough spit & polish to remind the troops that they are military, and there are certain customs that mark a proud and honored Cadian regiment from other groups, civilian and even other military.
More primitive regiments like the Drookians or Kanak Skull Takers. The Commissars assigned to them are still trying to get them to use the latrines properly, and not wash fish in them, so no time to teach them how to tie a Windsor knot,

A couple of the Cain books mention ceremonial dress, for the officers at least as I recall. That's Valhallans.
I would imagine that some do, some don't. And that of those that do, some only have Officer dress uniforms, others have Officers and a few honor guard types, and others go full hog with every guy in a No1 uniform (e.g. Mordians)

It's mentioned in the xxxx of Mars series that the Cadian dress uniform is used for formal occasions, but is only really visible as differing from their battle dress by those who know what they're looking for.

AFAIK, Mordians _do_ wear the dress uniform? Or, if not, the dress uniform means pressing it and wearing a hat vs helmet :-)

My Lancers have a field uniform and a dress uniform, sure. Field/combat gear is fatigues, webbing, helmet, jump boots, etc. Dress is much more formal, traditional stuff; so knee-high cavalry boots, tunics and feathered shakos, also traditional sabres for officers, and even ceremonial/symbolic use of troops riding their avian mounts (think chocobo knights from FF) and carrying actual lances. All the latter stuff is for formal occasions and parade gound stuff of course, and not actual operational deployments - they swap the chocobos for Valkyries and their lances for lasguns on those occasions.

Absolutely! Depending on the home world of course. While not strictly the guard, I love the Officer of the Fleet model precisely because its a dress style uniform.

There's probably as much variety on any given (majorly) populated imperial planet as there is on earth, with variances across different hive cities, continents, cultural traditions, etc.., etc..
Multiplied by all the imperial planets that have standing militaries and/or supply regiments to the Astra Militarum.
