So this is a long shot, I've tried to find out the name of something I played decades ago without any success but maybe the archnerds of Dakka can help me out. I'll list a few relevant points:
- Possibly unreleased, I only played a demo from a magazine cover disc
- Don't recall if it was an Amiga or PC game. From memory I think Amiga but I bought more PC gaming mags. Mid-late 1990s
- I think title had something to do with the sun in it. Solar etc.
- Demo was the first level of (I think) an RPG. First person viewpoint, set on a space station that was being evacuated due to solar activity. Flares, supernova, something like that
- Player was tasked with solving a murder before they could evacuate I think?
- You could go into people's quarters and start asking questions. It wasn't a shooter by any means
- I'm sure there was some sort of timer as I think I always failed to work out what was going on before the station was destroyed
Anyone?

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.” |

Might it perhaps be this game? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentient_(video_game) PS1 Gameplay (I can't seem to find any of the PC version in videos): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBfNYH70EEU https://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/sentient There has been a breakout of radiation sickness on Space Station Icarus, and Garritt Sherova has been sent to investigate. After arriving at the station, it becomes apparent that radiation is only one of many problems; the captain is dead and a power struggle has ensued. To make matters worse, Icarus is on a collision course with the Sun and nobody is able to correct the station's course.
Credit to Justice from the Niche Gamer discord if it is.

Based on the description it probably is... my recollection of the graphics is different but maybe that's why I've had so much trouble pinning it down, I was looking at games a generation older!
Thanks a lot! From the reviews I've seen it doesn't look worth tracking down, but I remember being pretty absorbed by it at the time.
