Hey guys, starting a thread for this so that there isn't more spillover/OT discussion in the Anthem/What are you playing now threads.

Personally I have been playing this quite a bit the last few days. Hit 15, did the first Hunter mission. I was actually pretty shook by it, I was checking over my shoulder all night last night. I have been reading some interesting things about them.

Anybody start the end game gear grind yet?

I've been there for awhile. It's a pretty fun loot grind, and there's lots of brand set bonuses offering lots of viable endgame build variety (some of it is way more straightforward than others, like crit AR/SMG builds).

Right now I'm running a mixed red/blue LMG build. Finally got some Overlord brand gloves with clutch so I can have some sustain independent of the chem launcher heal. I'm really loving the armor perks in this game personally.

Today's patch fixed up a few issues too which makes me happy. Enemy health is scaling more reasonably, and they got in the second half of the skill glitch fixes which are much appreciated by one of my buddies who wants to run a shield build.

One thing that's been bugging me is the lack of +Skill on gear. I've got a ridiculous number of mods that all have Skill requirements to use, but +Skill is only available in tiny drips and drabs on gear - assuming that it's even there to begin with. I'm level 20, and I still can't use the first skill mod that I found (iirc, a level 12 mod that gives +1 ammo on the Chem Launcher). And that mod has lower requirements than the ones that I got later on.

It's a bit absurd.

Yeah, I remember that being an issue in Division 1, and it's still a problem in 2.

By endgame good mods require upwards of 9000+ skill power to use (and skill power does nothing else, which boggles my mind). You can get gear pieces with as much as 2k skill power on them, but they're exceedingly rare. You basically need every stat on the piece to roll up skill power, and then you have the problem that there's no balance in that gear. You can't bring much if any red, so no crits. You can't bring much if any blue, so little passive durability. Alternately, some people are just spamming cooldown/haste and spamming, which is more manageable but really begs why the skill mods exist at all when the ceiling to use them is so high.

The only thing really balancing it at all is that full on skill builds are really overpowered. One person with a kitted out chem launcher trivializes all content, and the hive and seekers get pretty wacky with upgrades.

Ran in to a new and strange bug. Have my Agent Skills set to Q and E. When I try to use Q, which is seeker mines, it instead draws my primary slot weapon and starts auto-firing/reloading until I hit Q again. This made some fights very confusing for me until I realized what was going on.....

That's definitely a new one.

Right, silly question from me, but is the whole red-blue-yellow thing explained somewhere?

Taking a break myself, at level 30, searching to up my overall gear score so I can invade another Black Tusk held stronghold. Drops right now are abysmal. Sure, they up my gear score, but the gear stats are worse than what I've got on right now.

My own gadgets of choice are the repair drone and either the stinger swarm or ballistic shield that allows the use of shotguns and assault rifles. Enemies still chew through it quite easily, but it can help for a few seconds to get into a better position whilst chipping away at the enemy.

I think the devs assume it's more self explanatory than it is.

Red is damage, blue is survival, and yellow is skills. So saying "Blue/Red" is just short hand for a build with damage and survival. It really only matters in that several perks have restrictions, like Patience requiring at least 7 Blue, or Strain requiring no more than 5 Red.

This Is Where the Fish Lives

Just picked up the game the other day, hit World Tier 1 last night, and so far it's been tons of fun.

My brother and his buddy (both under level 5) joined my game last night while I was running around capturing control points. It was pretty funny having two people still getting used to the game dealing Black Tusk dudes.

Must be great fun indeed, have they pacthed the AI behaviour yet? Or is the zerg rush of dudes still in effect in every skirmish one ends up in?

I run a loadout with a Mk 48 and a M1A, so the grenadiers are not that much of a issue, that and the turret really helps. But yes, they can be a hassle if you are tied up dealing with heavies or Mechs. I hope they do something about the rate of witch one finds rare loot once you advance the world tier, far too much as of now. I would love to find more apperal gear acctualy than weapons, armour and what not

Same but on PS4, the shotgun fires and several seconds later the sound plays, very odd and pop in has gotten slightly worse too :/

Yeah. They opened WT5 today and did some changes to weapon mods, skill mods, and skill power (which were all changes I think the game needed) and in the process we seem to have gotten a whole new round of wonderful bugs. Damn. And the game was running with such shocking smoothness for a fresh release. Alas, I suppose nothing lasts forever XD

Oh they did Skill Power changes? Great! I noticed there is a lot more on gear now.

I have just had the oddest bugs. Nothing game breaking but a little frustrating at times.

I had a bug where I could see the npcs rubberbanding so I knew where they were going to run.
I had one where I was rubberbanding when I climbed things.
I had one where I would shoot one bullet out of my AR every time I reloaded. Just one, making it an even 30 in the clip. I just assume it has OCD.
I have had TONS of audio bugs where its just not working, laggy, or cutting out every 3 seconds.

Really rough patch it seems.

Its on more gear and you need less of it. Many mods now scale their effect with your skillpower.

Were you reloading partially emptied clips? Or a fully emptied ones? Because if you reload from empty with an assault rifle, the game always leaves a single round out (I'm guessing that the missing 31st bullet is the one that would otherwise be chambered, and not in the magazine).

I noted some oddities today. I had a number of instances in which my dodge seemed slow (which was bad, because I spent a *lot* of time being chased by Outcasts with sledgehammers). Most of the time this was fatal. But there was at least one instance in which it wasn't, and I was able to see myself dodging noticeably after I pushed the button. I also had a few times when the corpse of someone that I'd killed earlier would suddenly collapse to the ground when my view turned back toward it. It was as if the corpse had been standing upright until I looked at it (ZOMBIE MODE CONFIRMED!!1! j/k).

Cleared the second to last story mission today, solo. That was an exercise in frustration. I really should have picked up a second party member, but the party finder is so awful I didn't feel like calling for help...

Heh.

I checked the patch notes for the most recent patch, and what do I see? That specific mission received two tweaks. The first tweak was a general tweak reducing enemy strength at a particular point in the mission (though to be blunt once I knew what was going on, I didn't have any trouble clearing that part by myself). The second tweak made a certain part of the mission CONSIDERABLY easier when running it solo.

Those tweaks would have been nice during my run. On the other hand, I think I had a lot more trouble with a different fight during that mission.

I cleared the Capitol Building today. I got in, initiated a Request for Backup, and had someone show up not long afterwards.

Then they disconnected. ^^;;

I cleared the initial area, and the other guy managed to reconnect just as I finished up. He was *massively* overgeared for the mission, and was basically running it to perform a friendly carry (we opened it up to anyone else who wanted to join and get an easy clear, but no one did so). So I tagged along and helped keep the bad guys off his back while he did most of the work. And now I'm in the end game.

Oh. Wow.

Who has this on PS4? I've been soloing it but it's quickly become boring for me, need someone else to play with.

well, yes when you play solo alot of the instances has been toned down, aka enemy groups/supers has been removed.
playing solo now is alot easier then how it was 2 weeks ago ago, but the AI stil MUST outflank and run BEHIND you at all times so that still havent changed, however, running instances on solo on anything but easy is just pointlessly frustrating.
maxed out the survivior and im dissapointed that spec points dont pool up into a free pool when you have completed a spec.....that means you have to play in t5 whit a 0 skill point spec grind if you want to grind a diff spec..........

btw, is the "new" chem launcher activation a bug or a feature? cuz it is 10x worse now that it behaves as a gun instead of as a skill.
allso, is the T5 item grind slower then on t1-4? i could swear i level up mutch faster in t1-4. in t5 i just end up getting 14/15 items with a powerscore lower then what i have and green drops are ALLWAYS lower score then my yellows.

Even toned down, I think Division 2 is a rather dull slog when played solo. It's clearly built around group play.

And the new chem launcher is intended. I like it myself, except that you can't vault or climb with it out which has to be an unintended glitch of changing the skill's behavior.

And yes. T5 is slower, but still pretty quick. I reached the high 490s in two days.

In a somewhat mind boggling move, Ubisoft is now uploading small (and pointless..) tutorials to their Youtube channel explaining how to manage inventory and how to unlock rewards.

I've decided to uninstall the game for now, I plan to revisit it a couple of months down the road again, when they've patched everything and fixed those glitches / squashed those bugs.

I haven't had anymore glitches/bugs since my first post about the patch. Seems they fixed things pretty quick for me anyways.

Yeah. There's still a few texture pop and audio issues, but a lot of those seem to be tied to specific hardware.

Dyes are rare indeed, I did find a lot of worn out clothing items, including a bitching secret service earpiece that looks really nice with the JTF uniform I got from the store.

Turns out that certain dyes are in certain places and are only random in what dye you get, I checked after noticing the two I found seemed to be in a boxes hanging off stuff, anyway found this, hope it helps.
