I am moving back to Toronto after a couple years away at school and I am looking for people to arrange games with ect. Other than the general fb group is there any Whatsapp group ect for people to organize games and talk about the hobby?

I am in Oakville, but I sometimes visit Toronto and have my own car (and might be moving back soon due to work commitments). I don't keep up much with the FB group anymore, but I would be up for games provided it's not too inconvenient.

there use to be a number of shops around but they've since closed down due to vandalism, poor management, or theft.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

If you're in Markham, Hero's World has a great crew. Look for Rahul, Huy, or Clarence. They'll hook you up.

If you're in the Oakville area, Lords of War Games is a fantastic group with a very diverse group of players who dabble in (almost) everything. Chris and Jay are fantastic owners who go out of their way to take care of their community, and we also run a yearly event called the Sword and Brush, an Adepticon-style convention that we are trying to grow.

So FB groups are the way to go?

Is there a feasible alternative for those of us who, for one reason or another, think that Zuckerberg is a demon sent to destroy us all?

I'm in Welland, currently and will be moving back to Hamilton, or to the (western) GTA, in the next month or two and would really like an option other than Black Knight Games or GW stores, as much fun as playing twelve-year olds who think they're on the top table at NOVA might be.

Facebook is probably the easiest way to stay connected since everybody in the community is on those. Otherwise, I don't know of anyway other than either physically going to the stores.
