I need some help to figure out a size comparison to a marine to a frigate nose from the Imperial Gothic Sector. So that I can make a crashed frigate out of foam board.

Thanks for your help.

I just need the nose really. Part of the hull perhaps.. I don't want to make the thing to small..

well a frigate is a about a Km long so even a large bit is going to be really really big...

A sword class frigate is 1.6 km long and up to 300m wide. So if you took the front 1/10 of the ship's length, you'd have a 160m piece--about 80 guardsmen high.

Any recognizable chunk of a frigate would take up an entire game board. Which would be a badass table, but probably not what you want to do. Crashed aircraft or transports are better suited for terrain. A mock-up of some sort of bulk lander would easily make for a large table centerpiece.

You could make a wrecked piece of bulkhead but a whole section of ship would be a bit too much.

For an entire game board where they are fighting in the interior it would look awesome

Something like this would probably be sufficient yet still an eye catching piece of terrain

Agreed a speclaist table where it was within a crashed ship would be increably impressive but alot of work

Realistically even a Frigate etc. would take up most of 6'x4' table. However if you scale it down a bit for playability's sake...debris and the nose with a battery or two would take up the whole table. In the old 90's "how to make wargaming terrain" book GW used to have they did an entire article on building a table of crashed ship bits. It was pretty bonkers/cool.

It featured in a bunch of their later White Dwarf background images.
