I'm just about ready to drop some serious coin on a Series 7. I notices they have both regular and miniature (which in their context has nothing to do with miniature painting, but rather denotes shorter bristle brushes).
Any thoughts as to which would be more appropriate for figure painting? My gut says the regular since that is the closest to all the other brushes I use (including Windsor Newton Pro Water Color), but at $30+ a brush, I wanted to get some options first.

No to the miniature, you want just the standard series 7.

Your paint will dry a quicker on the shorter bristles - holds a lot less moisture - but the other than that the painting experience shouldn't be a whole lot different.
If you're really strapped for cash you could go short, but long would be better.
Judging by your icon you're in Canada? Where I'm from W&N brushes aren't nearly that expensive. Have you looked into Raphael Kolinsky Sable brushes? They're analogues quality-wise, and whilst they are similar in price where I'm from, you might find them cheaper?

That's just how much kolinsky is in Canada no matter the brand.
I use the Regular for most work and use a Miniature for fine detail work like eyes and fingernails.
If you want a good all rounder go with the regular. The Miniature is pretty situational.

Consider going with a more cost-effective option, Rosemary and Co.

They ship quick, and I've heard nothing but good things about them. You can click the "exclude VAT" option for even better prices.

I bought the miniture one... wish I had known at the time that there was a difference! I am currently using some Raphael brushes, which are outstanding.
