Im making an inquisition warband and was hoping of making storm troopers using mostly cadian bits with arms from necromunda kits, mostly Van Saar.
My main question is how well those arms would fit and how?

I thought of trimming down the ball joints and using those skull shoulder pads that come with cadian vehicle kits.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated if you have any!

Why not just use the Van Saar minis? Why bother with ugly and boring Cadian minis in the first place?

because they are imperial guards men who got added to the inquisitors retinue not van saar gangers and was hoping for advice on how to get weapons that reflect it

if you can try to stay on topic next time.

you can make some pretty good storm troopers using the vansaar bodies

4th company 3000pts
3rd Navy drop Command 3000pts air cavalry
117th tank company 5500pts
2000pts

He was on topic. He asked a question. You hadn't explained your backstory yet you just laid out a broad description of what you want to do. That's not a bad thing!

Frankly though? He makes a good point. There is a lot of work to be done to do arm/gun swaps. Using the Van Saar bodies and weapons with the bare Guard heads from the Cadian Command Squad box would be a good way to avoid using the helmets if you wanted to avoid them.
I would say that if you want to use those fairly cool 'spider' helmets, you could trim off the tails and file down the detail on the face or build a kind of skintight mask over it.

on topic the van saar arms probably wouldn't work well with guard bodies as they (the vansaar models) are a lot slimmer both body wise and the size of the arms

4th company 3000pts
3rd Navy drop Command 3000pts air cavalry
117th tank company 5500pts
2000pts

He may have left over VS arms and IG bodies. That's how a lot of my kit bashes happen.

On topic, yeah if you file down the arm joints it should work and I think the guns are beefy enough to work as hell guns.
