I still need to look over the SM strategems, so input there is welcome, pertaining to which chapter to chose. And I don't know if Iron Hands 6+ FNP is better than others. My paint is a generic black scheme that could be any chapter.

Otherwise, this has no subtlety, a devastator jab and two right crosses.

What is your plan against tanks or monstrous creatures?

I assume the terminators are riding in the land raiders? If the opposing army has a lot of ranged anti tank, they could pop those raiders midfield and leave the terminators out to dry. I do appreciate the style of terminators in raiders charging the lines, but its a lot of eggs in a couple baskets.

Teleport Homers can rescue a stranded unit of termies.

Revised: I have taken out an LRC along with its assault termies. 8e's meta just needs to be met with a lot more dakka, so I'm giving up the romantic notion of the h2h bad-assery (which in play won't actually be so bad ass). And now there's a second battalion for CPs.

Battalion Detachment #1
Librarian in T Armor - Force Ax & SB 114
Lieutenant with Jump Pack - likely get Shield Eternal Relic, maybe Pfist
Scouts x5
Scouts x5
Tac marines x5, meltagun 79
Land Speeder squadron x3, HBs & ass cans - 216
Whirlwind - Vengenace - 90

Battalion Detachment #2
Sgt. Chronus
Captain in T armor SB & power sword - 95
Tac marines x5 meltagun 79
Tac marines x5 plasmagun 76
Tac marines x5 plasmagun 76
Rhino
Rhino
Terminators - x7. The load out: x4 Pfists, x2 ChainFists, sgt's PSword, x1 Assault Cannon & SBs throughout - 256
Dev squad x8, x4 Heavy Bolters - 144
Thunderfire Cannon & Tech Marine 92
LR Crusader - Twin Assault Cannon & Hurricanes, M-Melta, SB - 286

1952 in points, so room for moar

i'd start filling those last points out with combi-weapons on sgts to pair with the special. they can be used every turn in 8th and allow you to give more responsibility to your marines

Good idea. A buddy recommended this, too. I think the next GT is going to have a fairly strict WYSIWYG enforcement, which means I'd have to hunt up the bits (buy) and likely, simply build new sergeants from the ground up. I don't know if this warrants a facepalm or laughing emoticon.

Still, looking ahead for the summer season, I should do this.

Currently, and I'd appreciate a verification of correct & legal points spent (edits in orange, already). I have two different documents that say 1999 and the other 1997 points.
