Hi all.

Everyone knows it: a massive backlog of un-assembled and unpainted miniatures and then the next project drops that grabs your attention.
Well, I'm no stranger to this, and I continue to buy more stuff while leaving armies unfinished.

Okay, let's get right down to it. Here's the list of my projects and my progress.

My goal is to severley reduce my backlog in 2019, which, as the years prior have shown, is not that easy with kids, wife, additonal hobby interests (movies, books, video games) and release paces of different companies.
I also have slowed down my purchasing pattern and sold some stuff I knew it wouldn't start/continue in the next 2 years (Blood Angels, Vanilla Oldmarines)

More pics coming soon, I plan to post at least once a week and try to show progress.

Age of Sigmar

Ogre Kingdoms / Swamp Ogors
One of the main projects.
Army is already started and playable.
Lots of stuff still unassembled.
Started painting but left halfway through the first unit.
Picked up painting on a Tyrant again, but left halfways.

Maggotkin of Nurgle
One of the main projects.
Lots of stuff still unassembled.
Army is already started and playable.
Painted a colour sample.
Spoiler:

Legions of Nagash

Holy gak this is a large one.
I have like 3k-4k points from WHFB 6th edition from 16 years ago.
Most of them unpainted and in desparate need of cleaning up mold lines and rebasing on round.
Additionally, I have the Nighthaunt from the starter set and lots and lots of new kits, SC!, Nagash, Zombie Dragons, etc.

Blades of Khorne
Starter Set assembled.
Bloodthirster, some characters, Bloodcrusher.

Stormcast Eternals
Starter Set assembled.
Vanguard Blight Wars part, SC!, a few additional units.

Skaventide
2x Island of Blood
Might just sell them at this point, it's been 2 years in that box.

Aelfs
2x Island of Blood
Might just sell them at this point, it's been 2 years in that box.

Warhammer 40,000

Primaris Deathwatch
One of the main projects.

Started painting but left halfway through the first unit.
Army is already started and playable (uses units from my Space Marine collection until it goes up in size).
All Battle Boxes, Shadowspear, various characters unassambled

Kill Team
Everything unassambled. Push between big projects.
Elucidian Starstriders

Good luck with this. I would love to reduce my backlog too.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

That is a huge pile of minis and terrain to paint. Is that a Trump ogre?

It is and it is
And that's only the built stuff. My backlog is insane.

Okay, so at least I did some stuff.
It wasn't really on the list, but oh well...

I started building a 3D printed Battlefleet Gothic fleet, becaus why not?

3 Dauntless class to go

My 3D printer wasn't idle while I built it.

And I put some hours into a 2x2' board for Relicblade, so that one kinda was on the list.

Did some more work on the Relicblade board.

Crumbled wall section and started on the bridges to the main tower.

I'm really enjoying all the foam crafting... a few questions, if you don't mind:

How much is etched into larger pieces and how much is fabricated from individual blocks?
What are your essential tools and glue?
What will you texture, seal, and/or paint it with?

Nice work!

Glad you enjoy it

It's a mix of caring and single blocks. The enitre floor is single plates, the big tower in middle is a big round bock and single pieces glued to it. The smaller towers are pringle cans with soft foam where it drew the structure with a pen. The walls/platforms on the sides are single pieces with blocks carved into it and floor tiles glued onto it.

I used a hot wire cutter and a scalpel for cutting the foam. Everything glued with a simple PVA glue.

I'll use a mixture of PVA glue, gesso and acrylic paint for sealing/basecoating.

Very cool... pretty similar to my own tools and techniques, but so much more ambitious in scale. Having seen this, I'm motivated to try something big, a crumbling Sororitas shrine slowly sinking into a swamp.

Long time no update, but besides getting killed in Mordhau, I haven't been totally useless.

Relicblade board still looks the same, but the 4th wave of new Relicblade stuff arrived and might give me new enthusiasm (and a bigger backlog of course).

But I managed to put together various miniatures and and put together a city table for a game I horribly lost with my ogres against Tzeentch shooting army.
