Subject: Salamanders+ (?) Knight house?

Painting Within the Lines

I am building a Salamanders army, and I have a couple of Knights I'd like to paint up as an allied house. Does anyone know if there are any tidbits of knowledge on this? I've heard house Krast before, but I haven't been able to find anything concrete in the fluff.

If you want to be fluff accurate, Knight Houses hold no allegiance to Space Marine chapters, they serve either the Mechanicus or the Imperium directly. Obviously, if you're making up your own Knight House you can headcannon that they have a close relationship with a specific chapter, but they don't have any direct ties to them. Nevertheless, it's your dudes, if you want to paint them with Salamanders colours and Iconography and explain it away as a knight house who were saved or assisted by the Salamanders elevently thousand years ago and thus to honour them etc etc, go nuts.

I guess I could do a 'counts as'. I'm more concerned with not contravening existing lore, rather than specifically tying the house to anything. It would be cool if one of the existing houses in the codex (with special rules and whatnot) had a bond with Nocturne.
I did say 'allies', not necessarily 'allegiant'. More of a brothers in arms sort of deal, rather than a debt or suzerainity.

Your best bet then is to make up your own house and just pick an existing keyword for your army roster.

Lore-wise, I think House Mortan will be a fluffy choice

I can't condone a place where abusers and abused are threated the same: it's destined to doom, so there is no reason to participate in it. |
