Hey all.

I'm sure this question has been asked before.

Would you have any issue at a Tournament if someone had a army painted as Salamanders Had the Forgeworld Vulkan and ran everything as Ultramarines WYSIWYG with the exception of Guilliman using the Vulkan model?

I'd like to do a new army and think this would be cool. Pretty sure many people would have done something like this already.

Thanks

Like all questions about a tourney only your tourney organizer can give you an answer. There is no, none, never any consistency from one event to another and one judge from the next.

Some might let players do it. Some won't. Trying to run salamanders as UM is going to be a gamble you make every time.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

So the tip would be ask before going.

Having a Salamanders painted army playing as Ultramarines would be well within the rules as there's nothing to say that Ultramarines have to be painted blue.

Is rather the Proxy of Vulkan and Gulliman. Would that annoy you?

I personally would have no issues with that, but again, if going to a tournament, ASK THE TO!

They can tell you for sure, yes or no. We cannot.

If you win more than one game with a Marine army, people will assume they're Ultras with Rowboat, immediately, anyway.

Wait for your primarch like the rest of us or Play 30k tbh

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

First of all, this is a color of my models or at most a counts-as question, not a proxy question.

Second, nothing in normal rules prevents this, except maybe/kinda your Primarch swap (gear is wrong).

Third... in my experience, most would be cool with this... but as stated above, always best to ask first

If it was just green Ultramarines it would be fine.

If it's covered in Salamander symbols, heraldry, and literally using Vulkan as the primarch - yeah, that's pushing the limit very much. This is a game about aesthetics first. I'm pretty on board with the GW policy on modelling honestly.
