Complete Noob here,

The PC Version appears to be dead because it doesn't seem to have data files for 8th edition WH40K. I discovered this by simply trying to create a simple Patrol Detachment for DE. No Joy there. No option exists for it. Sigh. Even more strange was that according the my Codex Kabalite Warriors are allowed 1 HW unit. OK so far. So I added the two special weapons guys, Shredder and Blaster. No joy. Errors ..... not allowed per Battlescribe. Yet my reading of the Drukhari Codex seems to indicate that :

"For every five models in the unit one Kabalite Warrior may replace its Splinter Rifle with a Shredder or a Blaster"

Seems to be that a 10 Man Unit may have one of each if so desired.

The learning curve with this stuff is hard enough without adding in trying to fathom some software out :( There was a thread on the preferred Roster editing app and after reading through it I thought I'd take a stab at it. Epic Fail. I must be far too old to understand this. And for the record, I've spent a number of hours searching for an answer that makes any sense and came up blank.

So ....... Am I really *that* stupid ?


And before anyone suggests the App instead, a computer is far superior for me because I have a very large monitor. Not too mention the software keyboard lol.

So ...... Is the PC version now dead ?

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can answer you in more detail as I'm not familiar with the desktop version.

Everyone I know uses the App version on a phone.

I'm assuming you have checked that your using an upto date datasource.

Mine is Warhammer 40,000 V1.3.0
Supposedly for Battlescribe 2.0

I'm using BS on my phone and my laptop and it definitely isn't dead on PC - I think mine last updated about a week or so ago. It may be that you have the wrong data files installed?

Not dead AFAIK, my PC version updated in the last couple of days and I have created a list today no problems (see below)

Thanks for the replies guys. I agree that the Data Files are probably what is wrong. But no data files in the repository seem to be specifically for 8th. Being a Noob I do not have the older version of the Codex. Just the latest one. Made more than a few attempts at finding the *right* ones but nothing seemed to work.

The APP version does *not* exhibit this problem. Other problems too complicated to go into here and are like related to the fact that I am probably underwhelmed by the user interface

Indeed, the Windows version is alive and kicking.
I prefer this version over iPad or iPhone since you get much more information on the screen.

Thank You ! This was present as were 3 others. One was Epoch, and one was Age of Sigmar and one other IIRC. I removed all but the Datafile you mentioned and this seems to have removed a lot, or most of the issues I was having.
