So the Invasion Beams rule on a Night Scythe says: When you set up this model, at the same time you can also set up any number of friendly <DYNASTY> INFANTRY units on their tomb world rather than setting them up on the battlefield.

During a mission where the players take turns deploying units, a Necron player is putting two units of Immortals into reserves, using the Invasion Beams rule. Which is the correct method of deployment:

A) The Necron player deploys the Night Scythe on the table and declares the two units of Immortals are in reserves. The opponent then deploys a single unit and they resume taking turns deploying units.

B) The Necron player deploys the Night Scythe on the table and declares the two units of Immortals are in reserves. The opponent then matches these three units with deploying three units of their own. Both players then resume taking turns deploying single units.

It's A

You set them all up at the same time. You then resume alternating. There's no rule that says the opponent can match the same number of units or anything. It's basically the same as deploying units in a transport.

I've not voted as I don't think voting is appropriate for this kind of question.

The answer is A, it's always (in 8th edition) been A.

The rules are not a democracy, why is this a poll?

It's A. Stux has the best example. If I put down a wave serpent with 2 units of 5 and 2 characters in it, my opponent doesn't then set up 5 units. Not sure where B even came from. Never seen someone argue that method.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Because it’s an easy way to gauge consensus without reading a thread/filtering out OT responses? Because some people might engage with a poll but not post? Several valid reasons for using the poll format.

But yeah, the answer is A, OP.

Mostly it's a poll because I wanted to present as little bias as possible and receive a simple answer on how it would be played. It's a disagreement outside of Dakka, and I wanted a larger selection of opinions from people experienced in reading and interpreting GW's rules as it was interpreted a certain way by the person who brought it up, and according to them, most of the people that they spoke with agreed with them. I am pretty sure I am in the right but trying to make sure that I didn't miss something.
