Hi folks
Quick rules clarification - can I field a detachment for a BA army & include an assassin without loosing the battleforged benefit?
And second question - if I have a Vanguard BA detachment & a Spearhead AM detachment, can I use CP from each for either army?

Generated CP go into a 'common pool' and can be used by any part of your force.
As for your first question, no. The (solo) Assassin will need to be in an Aux. Detachment (-1CP) or you have to pay for them via reserve points and Stratagem (which costs 1CP).

The stratagem is now 2 CP, per yesterday's FAQ:

As per the latest FAQ, you have four options for using Assassins.
1) Take a Vanguard Detachment with between 3, 4, 5 or 6 assassins in it, for 0 CP gain.
2) You can take a Vanguard Detachment with one of each Assassin (i.e. 4 different Assassins) for a 1CP gain.
3) You can take a Auxiliary Support Detachment with a single Assassin in it, for -1 CP.
4) If your warlord is IMPERIAL, not FALLEN and you have no other OFFICIO ASSASSINORUM units in your army, you can use the "Operative Requisition Sanctioned" stratagem for 2 CP and 85 reinforcement points to add an Assassin to your army after deployment. This means if you include a Vanguard or Auxiliary Support Detachment with Assassins in you cannot use the stratagem to spawn another.

Ah. Thanks for the heads-up.
So since the question appears to be about a solo Assassin and this is in tactics, would you burn a Detachment for -1CP or pay 2CP and have three Detachments to play with?

That depends on how CP hungry your army is. If you can afford the 1 extra CP the stratagem is usually worth it to avoid taking up a detachment slot and because it allows versatility of choosing the type of assassin each game.

My list has a Brigade and a Spearhead and I only possess a single Vindicare, so I guess for me -1CP for an Aux. Detachment is a no-brainer.

Yeah, sounds like it. No need for the extra slot and no other assassins to take advantage of versatility means aux slot would be the way to go.

Brill, this is great.
Yes I'm thinking just a single Assassin. I'm also thinking about bringing a BA Jump Pack Captain to compliment a tank based AM list.
To fit an assassin is the only way an aux Detachment or a filled out Vanguard? You can no lo her than 2 cheap elites, 1 cheap hq & an assassin?
But the captain is hungry for CP.. Is 4 enough? Considering I'm happy for it to all go on him.
1CP for Death Company (extra fighty!)
2CP Fight after death
3 CP to double fight..
1-3CP for the deployment shinnanigans? Its expensive!

No, you can no longer do the mixed detachment. If you want a single assassin it's going to cost you 1 CP and a detachment slot or 2 CP. If you want to gain 1CP you have to bring one of each.
