So with the change to flyers and the new Aircraft rule is it actually legit to heroic intervention my Fly characters into flyers at the end of my charge phase to ignore overwatch?

Flying hive tyrants, demon princes, smash captains, Dawneagle captains, and Farsight seem like pretty good ways to smack hemlocks around when they cant overwatch you.

No. You can't use Heroic Intervention during your turn.

You can totally use Heroic Intervention on your opponent's turn to move closer to his Supersonic Aircraft.
