Would a WL with either it's arms removed (magnets) or with just the weapons as it's arms look ok as a 3rd War Walker. Assuming the other 2 models are actual WWs and all models have WYSIWYG weapons?

This may be more of a modeling question, but I want some feedback on:
A) If you like the idea
B) If there is a "fluff" way to explain it, like a lighter Wraith-construct leading the unit

The main reason I am thinking about this is because I want to get a WL model and go to town with magnets and create as many possible ways to field it.
As a 3rd WW is probably the easiest way for me to slot it into a game since a single WL is pretty 'meh'
But I also want to have magnetized arms able to make Revenant-style Lance arms, "Sniper" Lord or other 'fun' builds

Why not. I can see it working.
Ive seen a wraith-walker on one of my favourite blogs by Finan:

The only thing I can forsee is the wraithbone sticking out the back might be a bit unwieldly.

Wraithlord is my fav eldar model after eldrad so looking forward to seeing what you do
I personbaly really like the sculpt as is. Ive made a few adjustments regading the base and pose but my wraithlord is modelled static and I didint go the magent route. If you are good with greenstuff anythign is possible and im sure you can come up with some cool variants.
I have spare arms and stuff if you need any bits.

Yeah, one of my favorite conversions is a Centaur-style WL with 4 WW legs and an extended body.
The only reason I would do that myself is it would require 3 kits to make 1 model that doesn't even get upgraded stats.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I need to sit down and plan out 3 specific builds to shoot for. Magnets are great, but having tons of "spare" parts to paint and then leave in the case kinda 'irks' me.

So far, I'll need to build the legs and torso with magnets on either shoulders or arms (or both) for interchangeable Shuricannons/Star cannons/Missiles. These would work for the WW.
Another build would use the arms as Bright lance, actually "merging" the forearms into Lances themselves (a la Revenant). This could also be BL WW, or WL.
The final build with have an "rifle" arm, with magnet to either be Lance or Scatter laser (the only 2 weapons that look like a rifle). I'd also give this build an extended glaive a la Wraithseer just for looks

For casual games, I wouldn't have a problem with it, particularly if it was a cool conversion.

I don't really see the point of the conversion and as an Eldar nut it'd definitely look wrong to me...but I'm sure most people wouldn't care?

I dont think he cares or is asking from a rules/WYSIWYG perspective but oviously could be wrong lol.

Personaly, Im a fan of oddities. Wraith constructs have always fascinated me.One thing ive been mulling over for the longest time is some sort of wraith beast. Got an idea for a conversion but im not confident in my greenstuff abilities to pull it off lol.
I'm pretty sure some craft bonesinger could come up with an automoton variant of a wraith construct that runs at things and punches thing in the face. Sounds legit..

A Bright Stallion instantly popped into mind. But probably not as wild as you are looking for.

an aeldari version of a manotaur? Cause, Gravity Falls was legit AF...

I'd be down with that...

seriously though, I always thought it would be cool to have some wraith constructs that were perverted or damaged. like, when the spirit stones were removed from the infinity circuit, the spirit inside went mad, or maybe it was too deeply corrputed by death/warp/whatever reason works and they became weird feral wraith constructs, like the spirit inside the stone corrupted the wraithbone.

not sure if that exists anywhere, but I always thought it would be cool.

Well, I think its better to have the 3rd one as a proper Warwalker.
Three Wraithlords counting as Warwalkers would be a more solid idea.

The point for me is 2-fold:
I really like multi-purpose models. Having played Eldar for several editions, I know full well how the meta shifts. I rather enjoy being able use the same models each edition regardless of what's good. Scatterbikes get Nerfed for 8E? Shining Spears it is!
I also like having only 3 models to store, instead of 4 (3 WWs and a WL). It's efficient and I like it.
