The Aberant sgt equivalent, the Hypermorph, can take a heavy improvised weapon, which says to make two hit rolls with every attack made with it. I read this to mean that when I attack with it, I roll twice for each attack, and if either roll hits,i hit with that attack. Basically, i read it as giving me the equivalent of a reroll. My DE playing friend reads it as if both hit, I get to roll for wounds with both hits, effectively double the models attacks. I didn't see anything in the FAQ. Am I missing something here?

Your friend is correct. If it was just a re-roll it would simply say you could re-roll failed 'To Hit' rolls with that weapon.

Several weapons note that you make 2, or 3 etc hit rolls with every attack.

This means if you have one attack, you roll 2 or 3 hit rolls and collect the hits and make that many wound rolls.

Things like this effectively double, or triple etc, your attacks made.
