Am I missing something- or did they remove the requirement to pair a given transport with a unit that can use said transport? As near as I can tell each "normal" force org slot now opens up a Transport force org slot. So your apothecary gets a Razorback, your Ancient gets a Razorback, your Captain gets a razorback your scout squads all get Razorbacks... Marneus Primaris gets a Razorback and can't ride in it. His two Victrix guard may or may not get a Razorback, and definitely can't ride in it. Of course one of your scouts could take a Repulsor (while hillariously the smallest scout can't ride in the oversized Primaris Marine transport tank - I get fluffwise (sort of) why Primaris can't ride in most transports but the other way around, huh what?) and Marneus can go cruising around in it while they steal his Razorback. Bjorn the Fell Handed can take a Rhino but can't reenact the van surfing scene from Teen Wolf.

What I'm getting at is- am I missing something or do Command Squads getting broken up into cheap HQ and Elite choices also earning them a transport choice - combined with the removal of the dedicated part of dedicated transports - now mean we can see a return of MSU transport spam, as well as enough extra transport org slots that each unit could conceivably have the choice of a tank/transport and a Drop Pod both? And Oh No, you can just drop an empty pod on Objective Markers if you decide to use the Rhino/Razorback?

I also just realized this could be how to make the Spear of Macragge. Chronus and his Landraider gets you two Razorbacks, Other Landraiders Vindicators, Whirlwinds and Predators get you more.

And yes, a Landraider getting to take a Rhino/Razorback as a "dedicated transport" makes me laugh almost as much as Calgar/Guilliman sending TWO after Chronus already driving a Land Raider.

As unfluffy as it may seem, yes, you may take a Dedicated Transport for each other unit in a detachment.

Razorback spam with Guilliman was indeed a thing, briefly, and was summarily nerfed in CA18.

Nerfed How? Now that I'm seeing the Spear of Chronus thing this is actually making me interested in trying it. Two LR's One regular with Chronus, one Crusader with a Techmarine, four Pred's two TWLC two AC/HB, and as many Razorbacks split HB/AC as will fit after a Detachment with another Techmarine, three HB/AC Land Speeders and a pair of Whirlwinds.

Not many units with the dedicated transport battlefield role are worth anything. The ones that do are usually good because of their transport capacity (DE vehicles for instance).
So the ability to spam mediocre units is hardly a problem.

As the others have said, you get one "Dedicated Transport" slot for every unit you take, even if that unit couldn't go into that transport. If you take a Patrol with Librarian Dreadnought, Tactical Squad and Land Raider, you have three Dedicated Transport slots to use.
