Hi all, in your experience, is repairing an Imperial Knight worth it?

To my knowledge, the only units that can repair Knights are Admech Tech Priests (Enginseer, Dominus and Manipulus), using a warlord trait and 1 CP per repair, they can repair 4 wounds, otherwise they can only repair 1. Guard can also take the enginseer but no warlord trait or strat., so can only repair 1 wound.
The other issue I see is having him keep up with the knight without investing in transports or a deepstrike strategym.
So what are your thoughts Dakka?

Thanks in advance guys.

In general, no.

If you have a character nearby who can repair then go ahead but it is not a strategy to build around.

If you don't lean into the repair plan quite heavily the only situation it will help will be when +1 wound puts you up a bracket on the degrading stats.

If you want to give it a try, House Taranis, the Mark of the Omnissiah, the Questoris Styrix and allied Admech Techpriests are your best tools - ignore the repair workshop scenery.

Generally I do not repair my knights much - I certainly do not plan for it.
Mainly because if they are combat knights my enginseers can't keep up that easily.

the only reason why I would plan on repairing knights is because as an AdMech army I need to run a second battalion for the CP's which means I have a couple of spare Tech-Priest Enginseers which can babysit the knights if possible.

As I generally run the knights as Mechanicus aligned (for obvious reasons) for 1CP they can fight on the top bracket of the profile for a turn. if they are Taranis they can stand up and fight again/shoot when they die.
If I was running them as Imperial it would be Hawkshroud - mainly because I have a Valiant and the overwatch with that flamer is hilarious... but they also do not tend to degrade as fast either.

so al in all if you have 30pts kicking around that you want to spend on an enginseer then go for it to repair knights, but not overly effective in comparison to other means.

If I was planning on repairing Knights the Necromechanic warlord trait combined with the Tech-Adept stratagem can make for a knight that will not die (healing 4 wounds per turn). especially if you run a Dominus class, 28wounds, with a 4++ and Taranis rules (6+++ FNP). in addition as mentioned above the shooting on top profile and Taranis stratagem could make for one very mean knight.
