So, I am trying to build a monocodex Aeldari Craftworlds competitive list. so far, in my testing, this list has been doing well, and I have won vs Orks (boyz and lootahs), Imperial soup with 3 knights (two of the ones with two guns, thermal lances, and avenger guns and one CC knight, I can NEVER remember their names), and Chaos Discordant spam (double discordant, trip defilers, and 8 havoc Gatling guns in two squads), but every game I play I am getting by just BARELY getting by and eeking out the win (part of which is because my opponents are equally if not more skilled than I am, the other part because of list I think), and every game is feeling like its uphill, and so I have to wonder if I am pushing myself to try and include too many concepts in the list.

Feedback is welcome, but I will offer that best in the faction is important to me, so I will not be deviating from mono-dex craftworlds.

Its been ok for me, but I'm a little concerned that between the guardian bomb and the windriders that I'm getting a bit too cute with the anti-infantry, and at times I feel there isn't enough and my fire prisms have to pull double duty with the night spinner.

speaking of which, im not sure on the night spinner. Parts of me love it, parts of me HATE it. I just dont know and was curious if i could pick everyones brain here for some ideas.

For tourneys? ITC? League? Just pick up games?

Tournaments, and ITC, though I don't make it to a ton of events.

I have ran a similar list.

Perhaps a few suggestions?

I'd drop a hemlock, adding the other two to the battalion.
Drop the night spinner and take 3 shadow weavers in a separate Spearhead led by the autarch.
Switch the warlock skyrunner to the battalion to make use of the +1 to cast strat.

You will need another HQ for one of the Spearheads, maybe something cheap.

I'd also be tempted to drop the windriders for 3 warwalkers with scatterlasers instead.

This will give you some decent points left to add another element to the list that you feel may shore up some weaknesses.

Too less flesh if you ask me.
Keeping the enemy at arm's length is one of the principles of the design of an Eldar army.
This can hardly be implemented with your army.

In addition to the others' advice: ITC missions have a lot of primary mission points to be gained by holding objectives. You only have the twenty guardians and two rangers for obsec (which is not really their role anyway). Twenty guardians aren't going to be squatting an objective with their sucker punch, forty shot, short range guns, best used with Webway Strike, correct? And rangers are often speed bumps (not so much anymore) and Recon secondary mission scoring. Placing them on upper levels is also good for them, and ITC missions state that objectives can only be placed on the ground.

I figure if I had to play your list, the Fire Prisms would be hovering either side of back field objectives to score those primary mission points, but sooo much of what works in 8th edition is strategem use, and your list is too short on CPs.

Plus, this advice coincides with wuestenfux's comment on needing more footers. Using bullyboy's advice on detachment restructuring, try to make a full second battalion for additional Command Points. I manage three full battalions and have 18 CPs** in my tourney lists. This has been with Drukhari/Aeldari, and using Agents of Vect is expensive.

The one Hemlock being cut from the list yields more than enough for three units of rangers or storm guardians. Throw in/out a few scatbikes and you can add three minimum guardian defender units. Better yet, sacrifice your loved/hated Night Spinner and a enough Scatbikes to yield 3 troop choices.

I have a terrible tourney record, so all my advice must be consumed with

The hemlocks and fire prisms serve a lot of the same role in your army. I would pick either 3 fliers (hemlock, hemlock, crimson hunter exarch) or the 3 fire prisms. I think that shadow weavers are probably a better bet than a night spinner too. They're easy to hide and still don't need LOS. Plus the nightspinner really doesn't get that many shots unless you're rolling really hot.

The scatter laser bikes are way too fragile in my opinion despite their speed and range. I think war walkers would be a better choice but even then I would probably just go with another squad of 20 guardians.

Craftworlds Eldar: 8500
Dark Eldar: 1000
Harlequins: 1000
Raven Guard: 1500
Tyranids: 1500

I love it.

A couple suggestions:

Add a 2nd platform to the guardian bomb.
Give that autarch a bike and reaper launcher.

Those can be done by downgrading a Hemlock to a CHE and maybe acing a scat bike or turning the Nightspinner into a couple shadoweavers.

Over all those the list will do well for a pure craftworlds.
