I have an ITC tournament this weekend and I wanted to try a new list. I'm finding that Destroyers are by far the most reliable unit in this codex so I'm using two maxed units. The deceiver will place the destroyers into good positioning. I'm using Illuminor Szeras to have cryptek abilities that benefit both nephrekh and mephrit dynasties. Let me know what you think!

How about 3 Doom Scythes or 3 Doomsday Arks for improved damage output?

I wish I could add 3 of either of those, but I really just don't know where I would remove anything. Mephrit or Nephrekh don't benefit either of those units, so I would have to go all or nothing with a Sautekh or Nihilakh detachment to justify including them. The Wraiths and Scarabs are essential to providing a distraction or counter charge. The Deceiver is amazing for counter deployment or aggressive alpha strikes, depending on who i'm facing. I really only like using the Immortals in maxed out squads and they benefit more from Illuminor's augmentation ability as such. And the Destroyers are versatile and benefit from the auras of all 3 characters. I'm really just not sure how I would include any Doom arks or scythes, though I wish I could.

Alternatively, I can run this second list. Which one do you like better?

Might be against popular opinion, though if you can find 9 points, would swap

Illuminor Szeras [8pl, 120pts]

for a destroyer lord with warscythe and nanocasket.

This would allow him to deep strike into tight gaps in screening and cause chaos in the back field

Would also put your destroyers in .Nephrekh so they can deep strike in turn 2 so dont get removed turn 1 , as they are -3ap, they dont need the mephrit dynasty

I'm very much of the opinion that The Deciever is overcosted and unreliable. Drop him from the second list, add in a second DDA.

Command Barge isn't great either. If you drop that down to an Overlord, you could afford a third DDA,

Expect your immortals to evaporate quickly too. I took a 30 Immortal list at a 1750pt list recently, once people realise the firepower they have, they'll be focused down and they're just MEQs.

Lastly, swap the destroyers with a scarab unit to make them Nephrekh. They don't need the extra -1, but being able to keep them in deepstrike if needed can be key.
