So my brother use to have a bunch of 40k minis years back. Recently he gave me a small box of minis for various games and I found a handful of, what I believe to be, CSM. I do know they are a mix of metal and plastic, maybe resin I'm not sure.

I was wondering if y'all could tell me more about what I have and if I could manage to make a troop or anything with them.

That’s a mix of chaos space marines and khorne bezerkers.

All the guys with the pistols and melee weapons are the bezerkers. They’re troops in a world eaters army and elites in any other force. In the current edition they are very good but they need a delivery system. The smallest unit is a 5 man squad.

The guys with the guns and the heavy Bolter are standard chaos space marines. They’re a troop choice for any CSM force. They have to be fielded in at least in 5 men squads

I’m no expert on CSM, but that looks like a squad of khorne CSM Berserkers (can tell by the headdress on the three guys on the right in the first picture), and a squad of regular CSM.

What do y'all think about these two guys? The one on the left seems to be some sort of kit bash and the one on the right is metal.

It looks like I have 8 usable bezerkers, 2 CSM, and some doner bits for my own kit bashing haha.

I'm sure both of those guys could be used as beserkers #9 & #10.
One simply has a mutated arm in place of a sword. The other has a power sword (not sure if that's a current option - if not it's just a regular close combat weapon like the muties arm).

Yeah, the previous version of the Chaos Space Marines box had a "chaos mutations" sprue that included things like that mutated arm.

Back in the days that you could get squads for $2 a figure.
