Hi all

I'm teaching someone 8th edition. We are playing 1000pts. My Eldar vs his Nids

Any recommendation for what mission would be best to run and general tips?
The guy played in 5th ed last so hes a returning player a bit like me.

Thanks in advance for sugestions.

A Simple mission - Only War from the main rules book (pg 187) - consider using power levels to start rather than points (as he may not have chapter approved) or you could write up two "Fair" lists i.e. give him 100 additonal points especially using power levels (you take the min wargear he takes a lot of it...)

Also consider reading over the Nid rules as well before the game starts.
(or at least the following article https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000/Tactics/Tyranids(8E) ) it will let you know what his list can do so you can advise...

First game - no relics, warlord traits & hive fleets etc. - just get him used to the basic rules of his army (you could also play no psychic powers/psykers to start but both armies are psychic heavy).
next game add in <Hive Fleets> or Psychic powers, or one other special type rule.
and so on...

during the game - do not get bogged down in the details of what each unit can do.
