Hi all

Got a quick question, admech have got some new units recently as we know (Manipulus and the new transport/tank), does this mean theirs going to be a wave of new admech models coming out or is it we're just lucky to get two quite close together? I've only been playing for half a year so don't know how GWs releases work.

Thanks

There arent' really any hard and fast rules or consistent enough patterns of behavior to specify, they could represent the first hints of multiple units for Admech, or they could be a one off.

What secretForge said. They could be a stand-alone release with rules in a campaign book like Vigilus, or they might be part of a new wave with a v2 Codex.

One of the major things that helps GW's products sell is that nobody can predict what they're going to release next. If they announced something month ahead of time, people would save their money until that thing that they really want comes out.

Instead, GW waits till the last minute. In this way, people keep buying new things, chasing the hot trends, because they have no clue what will be coming next. You *would* save your money if you knew the thing you wanted was just a few months away, but you *don't* save your money because you're not sure.

That's why I got a full Genestealer Cult army even though Chaos Marines were right after. My true love is Chaos Marines, but I hopped on Genestealer Cult because I didn't know that Chaos Marines were coming next.

GW also doesn't forecast because the 3rd party companies leap in if they know something is coming and attempt to fill the gap until GW gets their version out. It's basically the reason GW also does't put stuff into the codex in advance of releasing models. Though I like to think that that policy also changed because GW had multiple casts of models in codex that never ever got made into models and had to be converted every time (Tyranids had several unique monstesr that were never released); and that is kind of mean on new gamers who might not have converting sklls or the backlog of spare parts to build from.

But yeah right now GW is happy releasing one-off models and whole swathes in one big go. It really depends and varies and there's no honest way to predict. Even very certain things, like most Tyranid players expected duel kits for pyrovore/biovore and deathleaper/lictor to come out like they did for zoanthrope/venomthropes; which would remove all the regular model finecast from Tyranids and leave them only with the Red Terror in Finecast - yet we haven't had it. It's an almost certain release that "will likely happen" but we've not had it.

So even when you can predict its impossible to know when the miniatures department will make it and then manufacture and marketing will fit it into a release window.
