Here’s my finished ultramarine dude that I painted for fun and to further learn nmm techniques. Also slime technique on base using polymer glue.

First, the good: He looks gorgeous! That is a very well-painted model, and you should be proud of your work.

Second, the nitpicky: He's kinda far back on the base.

Third, the bad: He looks like he's trying to take a dump.

Everything aside, though, fantastic work! Keep it up!

If I ever own a panel van, I kinda want a space marine painted exactly like that on the side.

I really like it, the painting is first class! As for the pose, I quite like it too, looks a bit like a quick draw at high noon.

I disagree, he looks angry / surprised to me, I didn't think about him pooping (like the necron warriors lol). But yeah it's a FANTASTIC model How long did it take to get him painted ?
But he has no squad making ? :p

Thanks for the positivity everyone. I have no problems with people having counter opinions to the art i make...its all part of it.

As per the positioning of the figure to the base, i put him far back to give enough room to suggest him moving forward into the alien infested area. Having the model closer to it, is too cramped and would conflict the armor, as well as not suggest as large of an area,
The pose, yes, was to suggest either, trepidation in moving forward, or steeling himself to move forward, or yes to say, COME ON to the advancing tyranids that you can only see in your mind.

As to how long it took, maybe over 3 weeks to a month of painting quite a bit, id day probably 80 hours or so i really couldnt say accurately...

The no squad marking....yeah. the only reason i left it untouched was artistic...i liked the look of the naked pad all shiny and blue....the other pad has freehand on it...i was fine to leave it shiny. Also the color choices are a bit free as well...

The model looks fantastic. Only personal opinion I like Ultras a little bit more dark, but again, the model looks great, more tan great it looks fabulous.. I dream of having better paint skills, and the face is just amazing.
