Subject: How Many Wyches Before It's Overkill?

Hello All!
With my Nidzilla army essentially complete, I wanted to take a look at a few models I have collecting dust on my shelf - Drukhari Wyches! I played Dark Eldar way back in 5th edition and I've always loved their play style and background. If my Internet readings are correct, I think the most competitive Drukhari builds right now are mono-Kabal with blasters and dark lances and allied with Eldar/Yvraine, but I was wondering if the Dark Eldar Wych Bomb army of old was still alive and kicking in 8th edition? From what I can tell, Wyches seem to be blenders in melee, especially with hydra gauntlets/shard net and impalers, but it looks like they are unable to pull off a first turn charge unless I pick the right obsession and get stupidly good advance rolls.
With that in mind, how are Drukhari players running their Wyches these days? Min/Maxed squads in Venoms? 10-model squads in Raiders with maxed out Wych weapons? 20-model blobs hiding the webway?
I'm toying with the idea of having three 20-model blobs of Wyches in a 1000 point starter army, but I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be shooting myself in the foot, so-to-speak, before I sank $200 into Wyches.

A 20-man blob that you deepstrike using webway protal is a great way to lock up a gunline. Put them in a cursed blade detachment if you want them to be almost immune to morale and hit harder. Or even better, put them in a Cult of strife for a ton of attacks on the charge and a fight twice stratagem.

I'm a DE player, but stay with the kabals and covens (those are what I played back in 7th). My knowledge is hypothetical.
Wyches are still good, and can be competitive. You will need to get critical mass with them, and have a solution to kill larger targets that they can't take down under weight of dice.
You can get some extra charge range by jumping out of vehicles (3" to be exact). We have great vehicles, and you should try to run multiple raiders filled with wyches

Thanks for the advice so far! In my 1000 point list, I know for sure that I would want at least one 20-model blob to Webway Portal into enemy gun lines. Is there any reason to take a second (or third!) 20-model blob in an army that small, or should the rest of my Wyches be loaded up onto Raiders and Venoms to harass the enemy?

i'd have only 1 big blob and then fill out a detachment with MSU in venoms, that way you can have some map control. Going pure wych hurts your effectiveness against vehicles. adding in some ravagers or talos helps this

At a 1k game, you will want a minimum of 30 wyches. Let's call it 35. This is if you want them to actually do something.
What do you have running around with them to kill off bigger targets? 3 Succubi and something for tank/monsters?

At the moment, I'm thinking of using two Razorwing Jetfighters with Dark Lances for the harder targets. In theory, this means my list looks something like this:
HQ
1) Succubus: Blast Pistol and Archite Glaive
2) Succubus: Blast Pistol and Archite Glaive
TROOPS
1) 20x Wyches with Toys
2) 20x Wyches with Toys
3) 20x Wyches with Toys
FLYERS
1) Razorwing Jetfighter
2) Razorwing Jetfighter
One iteration of this list had the Razorwings swapped out for a max squad of Hellions, but I'm not entirely sold on how well Hellions can survive the tabletop.

Hmm, 60 wyches may be too much for 1K.
This is what I would bring if I were to do a 1K Cult list:
2 x Succubus
20 x Wyches
10 x Wyches
5 x Wyches
5 x Wyches
2 x Razorwing
1 x Raider
2 x Venom
