King of Tokyo is a fun and short game about Kaiju monsters battling it out over their favorite city.

The game comes with some nice standees- which I am keeping to use when I feel like transporting the game easily. But I’ve always thought that the game could use some nice miniatures instead.

So I set out to create miniatures for it. Each of these started out as one of the old plastic miniatures from Monsterpocalypse. They’ve all been converted to varying degrees (the Cyberkitty took a lot more alterations than Gigasaur).

Anyway, here they are the first three. I’ll get photos of the others as I finish them.

Super cool, nice job.

628th Praetorian Guard Cohort (wife's army)
827th Auxilia Cohort (ad mech fun)
825th Foderati Cohort (in the beginning army)
1212th Foederati Cohort - Jokaero (cause I like apes with guns)

The game is really fun, though I admit that it doesn't really play like a miniatures game at all.

There is basically one space on the board -your monster is either "In Tokyo" or it isn't.

Tokyo is the hill, and everyone wants to be king. You score victory points by being in Tokyo, but everyone else's attacks always target you.

Overall, it is a pretty light game that is loads of fun, and now mine has miniatures as well.

Nice idea, well executed.

Unless you use the expansions (at least the one I have with the panda) there isn’t any difference barring cosmetic between the monsters. So if you wanted to go hog wild and make all sorts of monsters you could.

Or just swap out bunnies for kitties...

I love (and vastly prefer) King of New York, probably my favorite board game bar none. Awesome that you made minis for KoT, now you've got me pondering the same for KoNY (where the minis would do a bit more ).

Also gonna toss it out there, Cyberkitty always makes me sad because it shoulda been Cyberbunny 2.0 Not that your pink robot doesn't look great!

Yeah, but I'm still going to use the cards for their health and point trackers, so I wanted them to be recognizable in that way. They obviously don't have to be spot on for me, but I did want to express the same ideas (kind of like the art difference between the 1st and 2nd editions).
