Reviewed lists from Best Coast Pairings, Down Under Pairings, and TourneyKeeper. This chart identifies how many lists contain each unit. To determine which lists to include, I took the top 3/58ths of players at an event and recorded their list. An event must have 20 players minimum to qualify. If a player was undefeated at a gt or major, I included the list even if they weren't in the top 3/58ths. I excluded power level events. For example- if an event had 20 players, I counted the winning list only. If an event had 100 players, I counted the top 5 lists.

Once the lists were recorded, I tallied up the total number of times a unit appeared in those lists. I also counted the median number of points spent per list. At the bottom, I decided to go into more detail about the unit that appeared in the most lists. In the event of a tie, I chose the unit that had the highest median.

I made the charts, not the memes. I found them on google. Thanks to the original author. Feel free to yell at me if you don't like the fact that I used your work.

EDIT: I goofed up on the imperium chart. Someone on reddit asked about some of the deathwatch results and I realized that there was a list in there that wasn't actually in the top 3/58ths. Occasionally (not often) this happens if a TO changes the results after the final round. The actual winner was an ork player who didn't upload his list on bcp. As an apology, I fixed the chart added log scale to the imperium chart to make it more readable (something I hadn't thought of before).

No data on Grey Knights means no one played them right?

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

Unfortunately, yes. Grey Knights just don't have much of a place in the current meta.

Depends if they took them as upgrades. You can, for instance, take 6 with a unit of 10 broadsides or crisis suits, or even 2 with a unit of path finders. They drop with the unit and count as one unit for the purposes of deployment, and then become a separate unit. It makes a work around the rule of 3 while also lowering drops. Then you can still of course fake up to 3 units of them in the fast attack slot as well.

I notice a line of data that was wrong in the imperium dataset. I have removed the chart and may re-upload it at a later date.

I fixed it. Sorry about that guys.

I'm a little surprised only 3 of the Ork Lists went with Lootas. Looks like Boy Spam might be making a resurgence.

I'm a little surprised to see Centurion Devastators show up that often considering how many people think they're too expensive for how fragile they are.

You can add 2 drones to most Tau units.

They dont take up a force org slot so are not counted for rule of 3 as they fit into the primary units force org, but split into their own unit after deployment.

Could be due to this.

I for one welcome our new revenant titan overlords...

Are you sure that this data is post FAQ?
I read a median investment of 599 points in Dominus knights. Assuming that any list using a Dominus Knight has one and only one of them, then 599 is the average cost of that knight. This means that no castellans were present at the new cost, while it makes a lot of sense if the cost of the Castellans is the old 598.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
In any case, my takes on these lists.

1) 18 imperium, 13 chaos, 13 Aeldari, 18 other xenos. This is looking good so far.

2) Imperium is carried by the soup, and you can see by reading the data that 100% of the lists used at least one CP battery battalion. The loyal 32 in the old form looks to be a thing of the past, no one took 2 company commanders, prefering an astropath or a tank commander in its place.

3) Knights are still the strongest weapon of the imperium, but a bit less so, there were top imperium lists without a single knight.

4) Dark reapers and shining spears are no more.

5) Other overperforming units (units that appear too frequently without "structural" reasons) seem to be:

- Crimson hunters
- Ahriman
- Ravagers (always maxed in all cabal detachments, always with dissie cannons)
- Razorwing jetfighters (2x the number of Cabal detachments)
- Shadowsun
